REHABILITATION: A contemporary approach to support the continuum of care from "ageing in place" to "dying in place"
Abstract
Many older adults prefer to age and die in place, yet global aged care policies rarely include dying in place as their goal. This seminar will advocate for expanding the concept of “ageing in place” to include “dying in place,” thereby shaping more inclusive policies. It will also explore the role of rehabilitation in supporting older adults during their transition from ageing to dying at home, while analyzing the opportunities and challenges of integrating rehabilitation into home-based aged care and discussing strategies for implementation and research considerations.
