Recent and Future Developments in English Arbitration Law: The Arbitration Bill and Beyond

London is a leading seat for international arbitration. Significant changes to the statutory framework will be introduced by the Arbitration Bill 2024, amending the Arbitration Act 1996. The Bill purports to clarify the law governing arbitration agreements, strengthen the courts’ supporting powers and facilitate faster and fairer dispute resolution. In addition, the courts continue to develop arbitration law in important respects.

The panellists will discuss the following topics:

  3. Challenges to substantive jurisdiction under section 67
  4. Arbitrators’ duties of disclosure
  5. Summary disposal
  6. Anti-suit injunctions
