We are delighted to invite you to an Open Research Summer School, co-organised by the RIOT Science Club and the Research Innovation Committee, and funded by the Health Science Doctoral Training Centre at King's College London.

Please find below a list of key highlights and what to expect.

  • Talks and roundtable discussions: Hear from a broad range of speakers covering a variety of topics, including academic fraud, scholarly communication, questionable research practices, and open research practices. Speakers include Dr Emma Henderson, Professor Dorothy Bishop, Professor Daniel Lakens, Dr Nick Brown, Professor Federico Turkheimer, Professor Sarah Byford, Dr Anthony Pelosi, Dr Dale Barr, Dr Ian Hussey, Professor Mitul Mehta, and many many more!
  • Hands-On Workshops: Engage in practical sessions on open data, reproducibility, p-curve analysis, error detection, and registered reports.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded peers, potential collaborators, and thought leaders in the open science community over refreshments and lunch.

Who can attend?

All are welcome - students, research or teaching staff, academics and research enablers (e.g., librarians, technicians) from all disciplines at any career stage. To secure your place, you are required to complete all the mandatory questions on the registration page.

Why attend?

The summer school will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for good quality research, career development, and development of collaborative links. Attending will help you make your research more open, reproducible, and impactful.

How can I attend?

Such events work best in-person, but we recognise that not everyone can join.

In person: All talks, roundtable discussions plus workshops and networking opportunities.
