LEON JEAN-MARIE

Leon Jean-Marie is a British musician with a career spanning two decades. His early influences were split between hip hop and rock, and he was deeply inspired by Prince. He started as an unpaid assistant engineer at Swan Yard Innovation Studios, working alongside artists like Dido and Faithless, and learning how to use Pro Tools and Logic. He signed a two-album deal with Island Records, working with Mark Ronson and Bloodshy & Avant, and released the critically acclaimed album ‘Bent Out of Shape’ in 2008. After parting ways with Island, he worked with composer Christian Henson and got his first film credit on ‘Robot Overlords’ in 2014. He continued scoring for films and fashion brands and co-founded the successful music agency 'Curation'. He was persuaded by a friend to start working on his own music again, leading to collaborations with De La Soul's Posdnuos and Lauryn Hill. In 2022, he scored three documentaries and worked on successful EPs with Ryder and Skepta. Branching into the world of wellbeing and mental health, Leon became one half of ‘The Sound Nutritionist’ with his good longtime friend acoustic scientist, Christin Rauter. The Sound Nutritionist is a service that offers bespoke sonic solutions for personal and professional growth, spanning clients including Clifford Chance Law, Soho House, NIKE, TOAST, House Of Koko, and Charlotte Tilbury. Leon brings a unique blend of scientific and technological expertise, seamlessly integrating with Christin’s holistic approach, creating impactful work.
