Because human eye movements can be interpreted as indicators of mental activity, including attention, exploration, or preference, they play a major role in the experimental study of aesthetic experience. The advent of mobile eye-tracking offers new opportunities to study gaze patterns on paintings in their real-world context.
We will bring the latest eye tracking glasses into the SGDP arts exhibition to demonstrate how eye movements link art works to their mental representation – and let volunteers experience how scientists observe and analyse their interaction with the exhibits in the gallery.
This is a free drop-in event.
