Legacies of Women in the Life Sciences Exhibit

31Marwomen in the life sciences

This exhibit features 20 women whose groundbreaking contributions have shaped the life sciences. From Metrodora, the earliest known author of medical texts, to modern figures like Professor Susan Standring, it spans centuries of impactful achievements. Each story has been carefully curated, and in a few, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Foyle’s Special Collections to reveal insights from rare texts at King’s to authentically honour their legacies.

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore these remarkable stories within the historic Aesculapius Room of the Gordon Museum, one of the largest medical museums in the world. Please note that photography is strictly prohibited, adding to the intrigue of experiencing this exhibit in person.
