This year’s Korea Global Forum for Peace is taking place online and will see research experts and governmental officials from more than 20 countries meet to discuss issues surrounding North Korea and the prospect of peace on the peninsula.

The Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Reunification and SOAS University of London are co-organising the three-day event, which takes place from 11-13 November.

Dr Johnna Montgomerie, head of the Department of European and International Studies at King’s, will be opening the event along with Felix Berenskoetter, head of politics at SOAS.
Dr Ramon Pachecho Pardo, reader in international relations at King’s, will act as moderator for one of the three sessions taking place across the three days that will address different issues affecting the peace and reunification process.

The sessions are entitled: DPRK’s denuclearization and the role of Europe, Reality and Ways of Peace-building on the Korean Peninsula, and Prospect of peace-building on the Korean Peninsula and the role of Europe.

Joining the event will be Simon Smith, British Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and Park Enna, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the UK.
