Increasing board diversity in charities and schools has been an ongoing conversation.

With nearly 30% of major charities lacking representation from ethnic minority groups and fewer than 3% of trustees under the age of 30, there is a strong consensus that board diversity is essential for driving innovation, reflecting the communities served, and enhancing decision-making.

As part of our vision to make the world a better place, King’s is committed to supporting and increasing the number of staff and students serving as charity trustees and school governors within our local community.

Join this webinar to gain an introduction to the roles of Charity Trustee and School Governor. Learn how King's Volunteering and Organisational Development, are helping staff and students make meaningful impact in their communities through these roles.

We’ll be joined by Emma Hawker from Governors for Schools and Leon Ward, CEO of MyBnk, and Dr Gursimran Oberoi, Research Staff Development Consultant at King's and trustee of the Watts Gallery Trust. Together, they will explore what it means to be a board-level volunteer, the need for a more diverse board and how becoming a trustee/governor can shape your own personal development and career aspirations.
