The public health crisis has highlighted the complex contexts of epidemic preparedness and created a global narrative on how we respond to biological threats. Countries’ vulnerabilities to respond to outbreaks have now been revealed on the international stage, questioning world security in the process.
As part of our King’s Experts Series, join us as we ask some of our leading academics: How do global responses to extreme events impact our social order? Our panel will discuss how governments communicate in crisis situations is key to influencing the response and how digital technologies shape global security practices.
Our panel includes Chair Professor Brooke Rogers OBE, Professor of Behavioural Science and Security and Deputy Head of Department and Director of Academic Staffing in the Department of War Studies, along with our panelists Dr Filippa Lentzos, Senior Lecturer in Science and International Security and Co-Director of the Centre for Science and Security Studies, and Dr Tim Stevens, Senior Lecturer in Global Security and Head of the King's Cyber Security Research Group.
Register here to join live on Monday 7 June, 17:00 BST / 12:00 EDT / 9:00 PDT.
