King’s Experts Series: New Technologies for Mind and Body

Join us online on Tuesday 29 October at 18.00 for our first King's Experts Series event of this academic year.

The mind and body have long been a source of scientific and philosophical discussion and debate. But with new technologies transforming our understanding of the human body and brain, are we unlocking new physiological and psychological secrets?

We’ll be joined by leading King’s experts who will discuss cutting-edge research across neuroscience, nursing, psychiatry and regenerative muscle physiology.

King’s researchers have a unique understanding of 3D cell culture and The Centre for Human Brain Development unlocks a world-first understanding of the developing brain to revolutionise support and treatment for children at risk of epilepsy, psychosis and other brain conditions. This year will also see the opening of the Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People - Europe’s largest world-leading centre for children and adolescent mental health.

We will be joined by the following speakers:

    • Professor Oscar Marín – Professor of Neuroscience, Director of our Centre for Developmental Neurobiology & our MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders
    • Dr Johnny Downs – Senior Clinical Lecturer (Honorary Consultant) in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
    • Professor Jackie Sturt – Head of Division of Care in Long Term Conditions and Professor of Behavioural Medicine in Nursing

Attendees are invited to pose questions on all topics related to mind and body in this exclusive live webinar.
