In May, the Office of the Dean will be trialling a new initiative—the King's Community Chorus. This is open to all members of the King's community, regardless of musical ability or experience.

Over four weeks, we will learn to sing Fauré's 'Requiem'—one of the most famous and popular pieces of choral music ever written. The aim is to have fun, and to enjoy singing together!

  • Tuesday 6 May, 6.30-7.30pm: Rehearsal
  • Tuesday 13 May, 6.30-7.30pm: Rehearsal
  • Tuesday 20 May, 6.30-7.30pm: Rehearsal
  • Tuesday 27 May, 6.30-7.30pm: Informal 'Performance'

Although we will provide sheet music to all, you don't need to be able to read music to take part. Each voice part will have a 'section leader', drawn from the Choir of King’s College London, who will help lead the singing. Dr Joseph Fort, Director of the Chapel Choir) will conduct the rehearsals.

If you are interested in singing in the Community Chorus, or want further information, please fill in this form by Wednesday 30 April.

The Choir of King's College London, our Chapel Choir, sings Evensong at 5.30pm on Tuesdays during term time, and all are welcome to attend - please note that our regular Choral Evensong service will be replaced by a Memorial Evensong service, with an earlier start time of 5pm, on Tuesday 20 May.
