Join the Imaging Bites Lunch & Learn Seminar Series
This Imaging Bites seminar will explore Cryo-CLEM. Vitrified Cryo-samples offer superior structural preservation of biological samples and are compatible with the vacuum conditions of the EM as well as light microscopy methods, notably fluorescence.
The Cryo-Correlative Microscopy Stage (CMS) from Linkam Scientific enables fluorescence sample mapping for correlative methods with cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). In this talk, guest speaker Michael Schwertner, Senior Development Scientist at Linkam Scientific will introduce the CMS, and explore skills and tools unique to cryo-samples. He will discuss applications within the Centre for Ultrastructural Imaging and highlight how cryo-correlative methods can enhance the work of our electron microscopes.
Join us for this 30-minute seminar, followed by an interactive Q&A and a complimentary lunch - offering a valuable opportunity to network with colleagues and peers in the imaging community. This event is open to all King's students and staff interested in imaging - it is free, but registration is required.
Speaker: Dr Michael Schwertner, Senior Development Scientist, Linkam Scientific
Host/Moderator: James Geraets, Cryo-EM Lead - Centre for Ultrastructural Imaging, Research Platforms, King's College London
Demo: There will be a demo set-up in the CUI right after the seminar for those interested in having a look at the stage with some frozen samples on the cryo grid.
Sponsor: This event is kindly sponsored by Linkam.
