King’s College London School of Security Studies marks forty years since the Falklands War in 1982. This special online event draws together King’s expertise across War and Defence Studies, welcoming veterans, academics, serving military and researchers to discuss various aspects and new research related to the war between Britain and Argentina in 1982.
2022 marks forty years since the 1982 “Falklands War” between the United Kingdom and Argentina over the Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas. The war continues to be a source of research and study across a broad and varied spectrum, from military, cultural, political, and diplomatic lines of historical inquiry to its enduring contemporary relevance.
The 40th anniversary provides the ideal opportunity to convene a forum for scholars and researchers to hear and discuss the latest research related to the war and the events of 1982, including its legacy, impact, and influence into the 21st Century and the Falkland Islands before and after 1982.
Please register for this online event via Zoom. You will be able to join or leave at any point if you are unable to make all the panels.
