What role did Brexit play in shaping the general election result and what happened in the key battleground seats?

These questions and many more will be answered at an event taking place at the Centre for British Politics and Government at King’s College London by a group of leading academics and election experts.

The event, Election 2019: An Expert Guide, is taking place from 18.15 on Tuesday, 11 February, in room -1.01, Bush House North East Wing, Strand campus.

Proceedings will be overseen by Peter John, professor of public policy at King’s College London, with Rosie Campbell, director of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership, and Roger Mortimore, director of political analysis at Ipsos MORI, confirmed as speakers.

The experts will guide the audience through the election result, examining the factors that led to Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party securing an 87-seat majority, while Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party was reduced to 202 seats, its lowest number since the 1935 election.
