Approximately 12 out of 1000 babies are born with heart problems worldwide, and the burden of supporting these patients falls more heavily on countries with high fertility rates and low-income settings. This talk demonstrates the development of a low-cost device for cardiac screening suitable for low-income settings. It discusses the challenges clinicians and parents face in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
