Decarbonising transport: Future pathways for behaviour, policy & technology
Improving how we move around the country can help tackle the climate crisis, air pollution and rising cost of living, while enhancing public health. Surface transport in 2019 comprised 22% of total UK greenhouse gas emissions and concerns have been raised about whether our transport system is fit-for-purpose or exacerbating inequalities.
This seminar will critically assess current and future opportunities to decarbonise the transport sector in the UK. Topics will include policy directions, behaviour change, technological innovations and socio-economic implications of transitioning to low-carbon transport systems. This comes at a critical time as the new UK government promises to deliver the biggest overhaul to transport in a generation.
