In this Connecting with Charities webinar, King’s Volunteering have teamed up with the School of Education, Communication and Society to welcome and hear from community organisations who work closely with young people and in education.
Whether it's shaping the educational experience of students as a school governor or empowering young people to act on issues around climate change, join this webinar to learn how you can create change across issues that matter to you, through volunteering.

Ben Cuddon – ClimateEd
Ben is the co-founder of ClimateEd, a grassroots organisation who teach children about climate change and empower them to take action. The charity work with passionate volunteers to deliver free workshops across schools in London, creating space for young people to look at climate change in depth
Emma Hawker - Governors for Schools
Emma is the Programme Manager at Governors for Schools, a charity that finds, place and supports skilled volunteers as school governors across England and Wales. This year, in partnership with King's Volunteering they will be delivering Pathway to Governance - an online programme designed to help students and staff at King's understand what it take to be a school governor and how to become one.
Amy Lewis - Coram Beanstalk
Amy Lewis is the Head of Coram Beanstalk, a national children's reading charity with over 50 years' experience in creating readers through our one-to-one, in-person reading support. We know, and evidence shows that when children not only can read but choose to read, it has an impact on how well they do at school, how they feel about themselves and leads to better life chances.
Alice McGill - Reach Out
Alice McGill is the Volunteer Officer at Reach Out, a mentoring and education charity providing targeted youth development programmes in under-resourced communities. They provide mentoring from positive role models, interactions with employers and activities that cultivate character and develop social and emotional skills.
