Botany Through the Camera's Eye — Marie-Victorin / Keir Watson: Photo Exhibition, Round Table Discussion and Book Launch

The Exchange, Strand Campus, London

Following the UK premiere of Tell Me Why These Things Are So Beautiful (dir. Lyne Charlebois), a feature film based on the secret correspondence on human sexuality exchanged between the botanists Marcelle Gauvreau and Brother Marie-Victorin, The Quebec and French Canada Research Network (QaFCaRN) at King's College London is delighted to present an exhibition of botanical photography pairing images taken by Marie-Victorin in 1930s Quebec with those of contemporary British photographer, Keir Watson. The opening will feature a round table discussion on "Representing Nature on Film" (6 pm) along with the launch of the book that inspired the film (Lettres sur la sexualité humaine, Yves Gingras and Craig Moyes, eds.).
