Artificial Intelligence has the potential to have a truly transformative effect on society, and there is increasing global focus and new questions being raised on the technology and its potential benefits and pitfalls.

There is substantial activity in AI research in universities across the UK, with the EPSRC portfolio having relevance to AI currently standing at over £140M. With all this in mind, it is becoming ever more important for researchers in AI to think and plan for how they move their efforts beyond the research stage to adoption in society and industry – as well as approaches to recognising unintended effects and consequences.Supported by the EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account at King’s College London, the aim of this half-day event is to help academics and early careers researchers from across London and the surrounding area to reflect on developing the real-world impact of their research, and to network with researchers working on a variety of topics in AI.There will be chance to hear from an expert panel in a Q&A session, as well as presentations from Impact Acceleration Account project holders about their experience of developing their work beyond the research stage. A workshop delivered by the King’s Entrepreneurship Institute will focus on learning how to pitch your research effectively to industry.
