Professor Dame Anne Marie Rafferty in conversation with Professor Jack Needleman: Influencing policy on nurse staffing & quality improvement
Professor Jack Needleman has conducted research on nurse staffing in hospitals and patient outcomes. Three of his first authored publications on quality, nurse staffing, and the economics of nursing are designated patient safety classics by the US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and for this work, he was the first recipient of the Academy Health Services Research Impact Award.
Professor Needleman is a health economist and organisational management scholar with expertise in improvement and implementation science, modelling and measuring organisational variation in quality, safety, and cost, and analysis of payment and market structure. His research examines the costs of health care, the determinants of quality in health care organisations, the design and implementation of quality and process improvement programs, the role of ownership and payment on the behaviour of health care providers, and the impact of payment and health reform on access and costs of health care.
We are delighted that Professor Needleman will be joining Professor Dame Anne Marie Rafferty in conversation.
