In 2015, Angela Rayner became the first woman to represent the constituency of Ashton-under-Lyne in its 180-year history. Since then, she has held numerous roles in the Shadow Cabinet, including Shadow Secretary of State for Education, before being elected as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party in March 2020.
Join us at the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership to hear Angela Rayner in conversation with our Chair, Julia Gillard.
They will share their experiences as women at the highest level of politics and discuss why women’s representation matters, as well as what a general election could mean for women across the country.
