Algorithm-supported risk prediction in medical decision making: two online experiments and some modelling
Biography
Olga is Reader in Medical Decision Making at Imperial College London. Previously, she held academic positions at the University of Birmingham (lecturer) and King’s College London (senior lecturer). She holds a PhD in Psychology from Cardiff University. She studies cognition and decision making in healthcare using predominantly quantitative methods. She has conducted extensive research on diagnosis and diagnostic error in primary care. Her current interests include the impact of decision support tools on doctors’ thinking and decision making, the representation of uncertainty, and the acceptability of AI by patients and providers. Olga was the 2021-22 President of the Society for Medical Decision Making and is Associate Editor of Medical Decision Making, MDM Policy & Practice, and Frontiers in Cognition.
