In this webinar, colleagues from Alcon will provide an overview of their external innovation funding and engagement opportunities for researchers across each of our King’s Health Partners working within the ophthalmology space.

The focus will be on the Alcon Seed Fund which aims to engage, identify and invest in early-stage*, disruptive innovation within the ophthalmology space.

ASF complements Alcon's existing Alcon Research Institute (ARI) and Business Development and Licensing (BD&L) efforts by partnering with external organisations to fill portfolio gaps, enhance the development pipeline, and extend research opportunities.

Key Focus Areas

  • Cataract: Advanced instrumentation, new IOL materials or designs with opportunity for enhanced performance
  • Myopia: Device-based modalities with enhanced effectiveness vs. available treatment options
  • Retina: Technologies or systems that can be used to visualize, diagnose or treat retinal diseases
  • Ocular Health: Interventions that improve health status of the ocular surface
  • Glaucoma: Medical Devices with step change improvement in risk-benefit for office-based or surgical interventions
  • Contact Lenses: New optic and device technologies to drive incremental or breakthrough product performance in key indications, including myopia and presbyopia
  • Digital Technologies: Improved visualization, analysis or modeling tools to support diagnosis, treatment planning and guided surgery; clinical decision support system
  • White Space: Novel technologies with the potential to revolutionize the treatment of ophthalmic diseases
