AI and Sustainability in Business: Balancing Opportunity and Risk
As businesses increasingly rely on AI-driven decision-making, critical questions arise about the sustainability of these systems. How can AI improve sustainability outcomes while minimising its environmental footprint? What are the risks associated with data integrity, energy consumption, and governance?
This panel brings together leading experts from academia, industry, and policy to discuss the opportunities and challenges of using AI to support sustainability goals.
This engaging discussion will explore:
- The trade-offs between AI-driven insights and the energy consumption of data centres.
- The impact of AI on data integrity and the risks of misinformation.
- The role of businesses, policymakers, and researchers in ensuring AI-driven sustainability efforts are both effective and ethical.
- The balance between micro (individual decision-making) and macro (system-wide impact) AI applications.
- How businesses can harness AI while mitigating unintended consequences.
The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, inviting the audience to contribute their perspectives. You do not need any prior knowledge of AI to enjoy this event.
