From Foundational Fictions to multiple projects (Cultural Agents and Pre-texts) that illustrate the agency of culture in and beyond the university's ivy-covered walls, Doris Sommer has pioneered a broad discussion about why culture matters, and how people situated in the university can write differently in order to break down barriers that have kept cultural resources locked in towers rather than out making change in the world.
Professor Elisa Sampson Vera Tudela and Professor Laura Lomas, Rutgers-English, will ask Sommer to offer some of her testimonio as a transatlantic activist, feminist and thought leader.
