A bitesize introduction to Community Organising
King’s has an institutional partnership with Citizens UK, the UK’s biggest, most diverse, and most effective people-powered alliance who bring together everyday people and local organisations to build a better, fairer society using community organising techniques.
In this bitesize online introduction to community organising, you will learn more about the universal tools and methodology of community organising. This session, which is open to all King’s students, staff, alumni or other external partners, is suitable for complete beginners or those with a little understanding of the techniques and tools.
The session will be online and will last one hour. To register, please sign up using the form.
Supporting the One King's Impact approach
One King’s Impact is the University’s approach to uniting our assets and expertise to actively address urgent and deep-rooted global issues. The approach fosters connections and collaborations, and cultivates an environment where students, staff and partners receive support to achieve tangible impact across research, education and service, including financial support through the One King’s Impact Fund and networking and training opportunities through the King's Impact Changemakers network.
Some of the core components of the One King’s Impact approach include service with communities uniting with education and research, organising new communities to tackle identified issues, collaborating with external stakeholders to co-create and co-deliver positive changes and community-led solutions for people, planet and society. This is why we think community organising offers an innovative and exciting approach to supporting our goals!
Feeling Inspired?
For those who would like to develop a deeper understanding about the key areas of community organising, we will also be running on-campus workshops. You are welcome to attend one, or all three workshops depending on your interest and availability.
