Cybersecurity and the 2016 American Presidential election

A year on from the 2016 US Presidential elections, Thomas Rid, a Visiting Professor at King's, analyses the cybersecurity and 'disinformation' campaigns that took place.

According to Professor Rid, methods - including the subversion of political leader's authority during the election - have risen to levels last seen in the 1980s.

So what is cybersecurity - and what role to academics and universities play in tackling the threat?
