We are 1st in London and in the top 10 of Religious Studies departments in the UK.
King's TRS is a vibrant department in the heart of London, training students in philosophy, ethics, politics, sociology, anthropology, theology, biblical studies and ancient languages. We make the most of London’s rich culture, and our students learn from the city's museums, galleries, and sites of religious practice, as well as in the classroom. The department placed in the top 10 in the UK for the Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies QS World Rankings by Subject 2022.
Our staff include world-renowned experts in Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, and contemporary religious movements. Recent publications by King's TRS researchers give a taste of our wide-ranging interests.
The King's Religion MA allows students to specialise in Biblical Studies, Jewish Studies, Religion in Contemporary Society, Systematic Theology, or tailor-make a programme to suit their interests. Our pioneering Christianity and the Arts MA blends theology, religious studies and art history, in partnership with the National Gallery.
Partnerships and collaborations with the National Gallery, the Courtauld Gallery, Leo Baeck College and the London School of Jewish Studies also open up additional learning resources for our students.
