One Scholarship is awarded (normally each year, but please see specific arrangements below) to a student from overseas who has been accepted to study in the Department of Theology & Religious Studies. There are no geographical limitations but the Trustees aim to award the scholarship to a student who is able to benefit from the educational opportunity offered by the department, who is unable to obtain an education at this level in their home country and who is expected to make a significant contribution to the religious life of their home country through the medium of one of the Christian denominations.
The scholarship meets the full cost of fees and provides a maintenance grant at a rate which the Trustees aim to keep broadly comparable with those provided by the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC). Scholarships are awarded for one year in the first instance but may be renewed subject to satisfactory academic progress. No individual grant will exceed the Home student tuition fee, although it is unusual that the maximum amount will be awarded.
If you wish to apply, please download the Trust guide and the relevant application form below. The closing date for applications for the Overseas Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year is 12:00 (noon) on 19 February 2021. Applications and references need to be returned to the Clerk to the Trustees either by email (to theoltrust@kcl.ac.uk) or post by this deadline.
