The Walker Bursary was very generously founded by Mr David Walker, a History alumnus of King’s College London.

Award details

The bursaries are designed to offer assistance to candidates who are in need of extra financial support to undertake their degree.

Two bursaries are available, each worth £22,500, payable over a maximum of 3 years.

Each bursary is worth £22,500 , payable over a maximum of 3 years.

Eligibility criteria

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • you should be undertaking your first undergraduate degree, starting in Sept 2024
  • you should be a home fee status student
  • you should be undertaking either LLB Law or BA History
  • have ‘firmly’ accepted an offer of a place at King’s on an eligible programme
  • have an assessed household income of £50,000 pa or less
  • have taken up your maximum entitlement to UK government help with tuition fees and loans/grants for living costs
  • you must have given Student Finance England/Wales/Norther Ireland/SAAS ‘consent’ to share your financial information with the College
  • be willing to provide an end of year report and a letter of thanks to the donor

 

Award conditions

Students to receive the bursary in two instalments; the first in October and the second in March each year.

Students should make satisfactory academic progress each year to be eligible for payments. Periods of repetition on interruption will not be funded.
