Set Up Two-Factor Authentication for your IT Accounts

Registering your King's IT account ensures that it can be protected with Multi- Factor Authentication (MFA) - a procedure that requires extra forms of verification used to protect your online accounts.

Multi-Factor Authentication is a quick and easy way to add an extra level of protection to prevent hackers and fraudsters from accessing, altering, or destroying your personal information.

When MFA has been set up to your Microsoft 365 services, you will be asked to approve your sign-in to the University account through an additional option, such as Microsoft Authenticator app, text, or phone call.

King's IT strongly recommend you to set up at least two methods of authentication such as Microsoft authenticator app and text or phone alerts. This will allow you to reset your password without contacting the IT Service Desk if you get a new mobile phone or forget your existing password. Guidance on how to do this can be found on the Digital Skills Hub.

Remember, protecting your account is essential, and MFA is a powerful tool to achieve that.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, contact the IT Service Desk on 020 7848 8888.
