New temporary 'wayfinding' signs installed at Strand Campus

In an effort to improve navigation, King's Estates & Facilities team will be elevating the existing signage to improve wayfinding (i.e. how we find our way between places) across the ground floor of the King’s building, and the directional signage to classrooms through the Surrey Street buildings on Strand campus.

Temporary wayfinding signage will be installed across Strand campus by Monday 9 September 2024, as part of a larger project, 'Campus Futures', to define how we want to improve the estate for the future.

By assigning easily identifiable building abbreviations to each building and using the existing colour coding system from our campus maps, 11 unique identifiers have been created to improve building recognition and aid navigation to classrooms within these buildings.

Although classrooms on Strand campus are already listed on the current wayfinding signage, 19 classrooms across the Surrey Street buildings (Chesham, East Wing, Macadam, Norfolk, North Wing and Philosophy) will have enhanced and dedicated wayfinding signage to ensure you can navigate to and from these classrooms with ease.

You can see examples of the new wayfinding signage below.
