Make memories this winter break with King’s Winter Buddies

Staying in London during winter break? You’re not alone! I know it’s easy to feel a bit isolated when others head home but staying connected can make a significant difference.

Tips for staying connected over winter break

Stay active and share the festive experience

  • Explore the magic of London - walk along the Thames, skate at Somerset House or visit Christmas Markets - and Facetime family or friends to share the experience. Capture the special moments and share with those around you to keep them updated. You’re in the perfect city in the perfect season.

Reach out

  • Keep in touch with your family and friends even if they’re far away. Play online games, like GamePigeon, or make quick calls during everyday errands - a simple yet easy way to stay close. Remember that the break will only fly by.

Join events like Winter Buddies

  • This is the perfect way to meet people who are also spending their break in London and are looking for connections, just like you.

What is Winter Buddies?

The holidays don’t have to be lonely. Winter Buddies is your ticket to create memorable moments, meeting other students at the same time as enjoying the incredible festive activities. Last year, over 400 students left with new friendships and memories. This year, it could be you!

Winter Buddies is your chance to make a quiet break into something more and to feel supported. What are you waiting for? Sign up to one or both of the activities by completing the  King’s Winter Buddies Form to make this winter unforgettable. Hope to see you there!

The Winter Grotto

The perfect holiday hideaway and the right spot to unwind and relax. Play games, decorate ornaments, and make winter-themed friendship bracelets, while sipping some free hot chocolate.

“Being in London on my own over Christmas was horrible, thank you so much for getting me out of my dorm and helping me to meet new people.”

“I was scared to come to this but I’m really glad I did, I made new friends and had a great time."

"I didn't know what the food was, and it was my first time trying it. I don't know if I will have it again! But I really liked learning about the tradition and meeting other students.”

How to join?
