King’s Language Resource Centre is moving

Three students stand outside the King's Language Centre, engaged in conversation under a clear blue sky.

At the end of January 2025, King’s Language Resource Centre, based in the King’s Building on the Strand Campus, will be moving from K-1.07 to K0.28/30.

You will still be able to access all the same support and resources in the new space, including:

  • language-specific library with resources available for loan and reference
  • speaking practice
  • student workshops and events.

Temporary closure dates

To help with the move, the Language Resource Centre will be closed from Friday 31 January and reopen in K0.28/30 on Monday 10 February. If you have any questions, please contact: language.resources@kcl.ac.uk

Why the move is taking place

This move is one of the ways we’re investing in our campuses to support the student and staff experience, as part of our Campus Futures programme. We’ll share more information about the other moves in this programme throughout the year.

What King’s Language Centre offers

King’s Language Centre provides all King’s students with the opportunity to study a language.

  • If you’re an undergraduate student, you can study an assessed language module for credit as part of their degree for free, or (at an additional fee) on a not for credit basis in addition to your degree.
  • If you’re a postgraduate student, you can take a non-assessed non-credit bearing language module for free that will be included in your transcript
  • All students can also take non-assessed evening classes and short courses at additional discounted cost.

You can find out more on our intranet page.
