King’s Sport & Wellness Club Development Support

This year, King’s Sport & Wellness will be supporting KCLSU Sport Clubs through our performance team with support to help develop performance.

All 1st teams have the opportunity to apply for support.

Support Package Benefits:  

 

  • Access to Sport & Wellness Centre including Waterloo Gym.
  • Team S&C Programmes – This will include check ins with coach and there is potential to have S&C interns supporting sessions.
  • Archon Fitness Rating – Record and measure a comprehensive range of metrics to track progress and performance with strength and endurance training.
  • Opportunity to book studio/ weights area from team sessions within specific times.
  • Pre and Post Season Testing – Opportunity to be part of SEMS research projects. 
  • Dedicated Physio / Injury Prevention Sessions. Clubs can book 1-hour slots for team. Other physiotherapy areas can include; Physio led Pilates (Goal: mitigate injury risk with sport specific strength/control/endurance/flexibility class), Post match recovery session - Can include soft tissue therapy/gentle mobility session, Education sessions around injury management / reducing risk of injuries and Q&As re injury management / reducing risk of injuries as well as pregame taping.
  • 1-2-1 Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Psychology Sessions at King’s Sport & Wellness Centre.
  • Personalised team workshops (1 workshop per term based on the needs of the team).
  • Employability opportunities from Add-Victor. The organisation, add-victor, is a service and digital platform for high-achieving athletes and military veterans, working with ambitious companies that value the soft-skills developed through sport.

    The entire process is free and open to athletes who can create their own free “shop-window” displaying their unique skills & experiences; once registered, individuals can access the ‘Knowledge Hub’ filled with useful resources, blogs and workshops to aid the employability of those that engage; whilst accessing job opportunities across various sectors and career support/guidance from specialist athlete Associates.
