Course overview

King’s Pre-University summer courses offer participants an in-depth exploration of the chosen subject area(s) at degree level and give students experience of university-level study. King’s courses provide insight into the key debates, themes and cutting-edge research areas of each of the subjects. Students will enjoy research-enriched teaching through seminars, lectures, workshops and experiential learning activities. Students will need to successfully complete the assignments of each module and meet attendance requirements in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.

What does this course cover?

This course explores the intersection of science, technology and engineering within the context of modern societal challenges.

Led by academics from King’s School of Biomedical Engineering, last year’s course included the following topics: microprocessors and digital logic, robotics, the nervous system and artificial intelligence, medical imaging, 3D printing and computer aided design.

A combination of lectures, seminars, discussion groups and practical lab work will provide an immersive and inspiring experience, with team-based problem-solving activities to help students prepare for future studies.
