Pre-University International Relations (Session 4)
Course overview
King’s Pre-University summer courses offer participants an in-depth exploration of the chosen subject area(s) at degree level and give students experience of university-level study. King’s courses provide insight into the key debates, themes and cutting-edge research areas of each of the subjects. Students will enjoy research-enriched teaching through seminars, lectures, workshops and experiential learning activities. Students will need to successfully complete the assignments of each module and meet attendance requirements in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.
What does this course cover?
King’s central location and proximity to Westminster places us on the doorstep of centres of power and policy making and this course is designed for pre-university students who are interested in a closer examination of political challenges, such as the role and power of international organisations in responding to global issues. Topics to be explored include international security and peacebuilding, emerging economies, foreign and defence policies and Cold War history. Excursions to museums, such as the British Museum and Imperial War Museums serve to further develop participants’ knowledge and understanding.

- Built on your existing knowledge of core topics covered in a first-year undergraduate degree in International Relations.
