Fellowships to aid Refugee Family Reunification

King's Sanctuary Programme presents an exciting opportunity for students passionate about refugee rights to collaborate on the Refugee Family Reunion (RFR) Project through a Fellowship.

This initiative, a collaboration between King’s Legal Clinic, King’s Sanctuary Programme, DNA analysis @ King’s, and Refugee Legal Support (RLS), aims to provide critical legal and DNA testing support to refugees in the UK seeking to reunite with their families. The project also seeks to challenge restrictive immigration laws through research and advocacy.

Fellowship Overview
The RFR Project is recruiting two dedicated students from King’s to join as Fellows. Open to students at all levels of study, the fellowship requires a background in law or relevant experience in refugee rights. Fellows will be directly involved in key project activities, including contributing to a Stakeholder Workshop on October 17, 2024, and providing feedback on the pilot clinic designed to aid refugee families.

Responsibilities and Benefits
Fellows will engage in research that challenges restrictive immigration policies and supports the publication of influential reports. They will also have opportunities to participate in meetings, both in-person and online, and collaborate with professionals in the legal and humanitarian sectors. The role offers substantial professional development, networking opportunities, and the chance to make a tangible impact on the lives of refugees.

Application Process
Interested students must submit a cover letter and CV by 5 pm on September 12, 2024. Successful candidates will be awarded a £1,500 bursary upon completion of the fellowship.
