Genetic & Environmental Toxicology

The Genetic & Environmental Toxicology Section explores the impact of exposure to chemicals on humans and the wider environment, identifying links between experimental studies and real-world scenarios. We use diverse systems, ranging from human cells to invertebrate models, to define the mode of action and predict the effects of harmful substances.

We are made up of two research groups, the Toxicogenomics Group, led by Professor Stephen Sturzenbaum and the Environmental Carcinogenesis Group led by Professor David Phillips
