Undergraduate

Our exciting and innovative degree programmes combine accessibility with intellectual rigour. While competition for all of our degrees is fierce, the Department fosters a supportive environment where all undergraduates are helped to perform to the best of their ability.

One of the features of the undergraduate programmes is the broad range of optional modules available after the first year. While the early stages of study provide students with a thorough grounding in the core skills needed to undertake advanced study in political economy, the second and third years allow students to shape their degree according to their interests through extended coursework, self-directed study and option module choices.

The range of modules provided by the Department grows each year, and students can also take options from other departments in the faculty such as the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies and the Department of War Studies.

The Department of Political Economy programmes are full and will not be allowing any transfers into its programmes from departments outside and within the Department of Political Economy.
