Optics Summer School

About the Optics Summer School

The Optics Summer School is a three-day programme held in July for students in Y12.

Students participating will have the opportunity to:

  • Do optics experiments in our new state-of-the-art Physics Teaching Laboratories
  • Attend sessions on geometrical optics
  • Have a tour of our historical Strand Campus and our Photonics Research Labs
  • Interact with current students
  • Learn how to make a strong application to university
  • Discover the latest optics research at King’s.

Participants also receive an Optics Ambassador certificate alongside an optics demonstration kit, to share with their communities and peers what they learned from the summer school.

How to get involved

Students can individually apply to take part in the summer school. When applications are open, an event with all of the details will show in the 'Events' tab below.
