Digital Health and Applied Technology Assessment

Digital Health and Applied Technology Assessment (DHATA), led by Professor Louise Rose, focuses on the use of data, digital health or care interventions, and technological innovations in health and social care as well as public health across numerous health and social care settings.

This interdisciplinary division explores the development, feasibility, evaluation and implementation of cutting-edge health technologies and digital health interventions across diverse populations (as well as the de-implementation of outdated ones) and is affiliated to King's Health Partners Digital Health Hub.

DHATA's three main clinical areas of interest include:

  1. Critical care and patients with medical complexity, trauma and resuscitation

  2. Cardiovascular care

  3. Wound care

Methodological expertise includes n-of-1 studies, randomised controlled trials, co-design, use of registry ‘big data’, ethnography, physiological monitoring, artificial intelligence (machine learning, Bayesian networks), patient-reported outcomes, and implementation science.

DHATA’s thriving post-graduate research programme and support of clinical academic career development capitalises on the Division’s strength in quantitative alongside qualitative expertise, and multidisciplinary faculty ranging from world renowned nurse leaders in their field to computer scientists and AI specialists.
