Postgraduate research

The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience is one of the world’s leading centres for mental health and related neurosciences research. Our School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences is home to many basic and evaluative sciences, from psychology, genetics and mental health to economics, statistics and informatics. This work underpins much of the research at the IoPPN and improves the impact of scientific breakthroughs across King’s Health Partners.

By choosing the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences you will obtain first class research training in a vibrant multidisciplinary research community. All of our postgraduate research students operate in world-class facilities, and benefit from fantastic support networks and training opportunities. PhDs can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis. However, they must be completed within an agreed period of time (usually three to four years for a full-time student).

We offer two different routes in postgraduate research study: MPhil/PhD and MD(Res). Each department within the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences offers postgraduate research opportunities.
