Our Research

King's Russia Institute provides a focal point for Russia-related activities across a range of academic disciplines.

Promoting an encompassing understanding of Russia and Eurasia, the Institute coordinates and develops Russia- and regionally focused research capabilities and Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian focused programmes of study at King's, while also building links with regional organisations in education, the cultural and creative sectors, business and government.

Through these activities, and as part of the College's broader internationalisation strategy, the Institute aims to contribute to a growing interdisciplinary interest in Russia among both students and academics at King's.

In light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Institute has indefinitely suspended institutional ties with those Russian universities whose rectors signed the statement of the Russian Union of Rectors in support of the war. You can find the Institute’s full position on the war here
