Why did you apply for an internship with Supernotes?
I love anything that is dynamic and innovative and have always been keen to explore the tech sector. I thought applying to Supernotes was perfect, as it's a EdTech start-up focusing on the productivity industry. I can't imagine not studying humanities, but have always wanted to explore the business side of things as well. I really like trying all kinds of different roles.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
With the internship being part-time, I come to the office 2-3 days a week. I do love the social aspect of talking to the founders and networking with others in the co-working space. I wake up around 7:30am, get ready, and commute to be in the office by 9:30am. The day usually starts with checking Intercom, our customer service platform, and also replying to users on the community forum. After that, I begin to work on other projects and marketing initiatives before we head out for lunch and come back for the final hours of work.
What is the most valuable thing you’ve learnt so far?
Prioritising is definitely something I've learnt is crucial in the working world. It's crazy how fast the working day flies by! I've needed to think about what goals I want to achieve in the short and long term, and then measure out what actions I can take in the day-to-day to make sure these goals are met.
Which of the Seven Skills of an Entrepreneurial Mindset have you utilised most during your journey?
During my internship, I have utilised several skills from the Entrepreneurial Mindset framework, particularly Think Lean, which I've learnt through observing the Supernotes founders, Tobias and Connor. They're extremely good at acting based on the direct user feedback they get, which is impressive. They're also flexible and quick to act while preserving resources as much as possible, and I can see how that's great, especially in a start-up.
