The Department of Interdisciplinary Humanities is dedicated to fostering strong connections and collaborative efforts both within King’s College and with external partners. By building on our strong networks, we are committed to promoting interdisciplinary engagement and enhancing cultural understanding across diverse fields.
Our department benefits greatly from the established partnerships related to Cultural Competency, particularly the Co-Creation (4C) group. This platform facilitates cross-university collaboration, bringing together students, faculty, and external experts to co-create knowledge and address complex societal issues. By leveraging the strengths of the 4C group, we aim to foster innovative and meaningful interdisciplinary projects.
We extend the tradition of the Liberal Arts BA, which cultivates special partnerships with several world-leading universities. Students in our programmes are encouraged to consider studying abroad at one of our partner institutions during the second semester of their second year. These opportunities allow students to gain global perspectives and engage with diverse academic communities, enhancing their educational experience and professional development.
Students can benefit from our teaching partnership with The Courtauld Institute of Art, a fellow member of the University of London and globally renowned for its art history, curating and conservation programmes.
Our department is deeply committed to community outreach and making a positive impact beyond the university. Through various initiatives and partnerships, we strive to connect academic research with real-world applications, addressing societal challenges and contributing to public discourse.
