Volunteer with us

For nearly two hundred years, King’s has been dedicated to the service of society. What this looks like is different for everyone in our communities. From staff volunteering in their local area to academics and practitioners making life-saving breakthroughs and transformational social impact, to alumni mentoring our current students.

Every year, hundreds of alumni volunteer with King’s to give back to society and to our community. Not only will you help others, but you’ll learn new skills, develop valuable experience and make connections too.

Every mentoring session is a learning experience for both mentor and mentee. I always learn at least as much as the individual that I’m mentoring.

Get involved

Whatever time you can spare, it’s easy to get involved. Whether you’d like to support current students, inspire others to come to King’s or engage with your fellow alumni, there are opportunities for you. You can take part across the world, both in person and online.

Volunteering opportunities include:

  • Mentoring current students, either one-off or in structured programmes
  • Sharing your knowledge and experience at careers activities
  • Speaking at a faculty or department event
  • Inspiring future students at an offer-holder event
  • Becoming an Alumni Ambassador (available to recent graduates)
  • Starting or joining an International Alumni Committee

Register your interest in alumni volunteering.

It was fulfilling to offer advice and guidance that I wish I had received when I was in their shoes. Knowing that my advice could potentially have a positive impact on their journey was incredibly rewarding.

Global Day of Service

Each year in March, alumni take part in a range of volunteering activities across the world as part of King’s Global Day of Service. It’s a great way to live out King’s ‘ethos’ of service by making a difference in local and national communities.

Alumni associations & networks

King’s has a number of independent associations running their own events for the alumni community, including the King’s College London Alumni Association (KCLA) as well as subject and activity specific groups. These volunteer-run organisations are always looking out for people to get involved by joining the committees, helping at events or simply turning up to take part.
