New multidisciplinary natural sciences degree launched at King's

Starting in September 2024, the undergraduate degree aims to empower students to solve major societal challenges at the interface of scientific disciplines.

A first-of-its-kind, undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences has been launched by King’s College London, enabling students to study across scientific disciplines. Capitalising on world-class scientific research and education, the degree aims to deliver creative and interdisciplinary teaching focussed on scientific problem solving.

Major advance for detecting brain conditions in babies

Research by experts at King’s and Evelina London Children’s Hospital has found major advances for detecting brain conditions in babies using portable MRI scanners.

Testing newborn babies with suspected brain abnormalities could become more accessible and more affordable for health care settings around the world, thanks to the pioneering study published today in The Lancet’s eClinicalMedicine journal.

Global Health Masters Students Moira and Sang Hee Zambia research

King's students work with the Zambian government to develop breast and cervical cancer services

Global Health MSc students undertook their dissertation research to evaluate cancer services in Ndola, Zambia as part of the government’s plans to decentralise cancer services.

Masters students, Moira Hegyi and Sang Hee Cho spent one month working with Zambian healthcare partners to research the available breast and cervical cancer services at Ndola Teaching Hospital, and to identify possible gaps and areas for improvement.

Researcher's image of the heart wins major competition

A colourful image of the heart has pipped competition to the post at an annual competition organised by the British Heart Foundation. 

Created by Dr Marina Strocchi, the image wowed judges and took home the top prize at the BHF’s annual ‘Reflections of Research’ image competition. Named ‘Paths of the heart’, the image was taken as part of Marina’s work at King’s which she is now continuing at Imperial College London.
