Spinouts

The King’s Spinout Accelerator is a 12-month programme dedicated to supporting the translation of inventions, born from ground-breaking research across King’s College London.  

Since 2021, we have partnered with Innovation@King's to provide support for King's research community, enabling researchers and academics to explore the commercial potential of their research. 

King's Spinout Accelerator

Could your research have a broader impact that benefits society, enhances quality of life, health or the environment? Have you identified something of commercial value?

The King's Spinout Accelerator is a 12-month programme supporting King's researchers to accelerate the pace of innovation, enhancing academic reputation and societal impact. 

Applications are now closed. The accelerator will commence in June 2024.

What’s on offer: 

  • Access to masterclasses, facilitated by colleagues from Innovation@King's 
  • Skill development sessions, to explore commercialisation, evidence-based validation and partnership opportunities 
  • Coaching from sector and business-minded Experts-in-Residence 
  • Access to a peer-to-peer network to aid Knowledge Exchange  
  • Access to King's Investor Network 
  • Access to office space for up to five team members in Bush House, Aldwych.

Entry requirements: 

  • Open to all King’s staff and students with an active involvement in research projects from all faculties 
  • Open to all stages of project development, from initial research discovery, exploration of commercial or business potential, to scaling impact 

Programme dates: 

  • Applications open: 4 March 2024
  • Applications close: 15 April 2024, 12:00 (noon) BST
  • Shortlisting and interviews: April - May 2024
  • Accelerator commences: w/c 10 June 2024
