Our long-standing partnerships with iconic cultural venues in London and world-leading universities around the world offer our students the opportunity to enhance their degree.

Students can learn directly from professionals in the arts and to access internships that can kickstart careers. The Department of English also provides enrichment activities for London state schools, including creative writing workshops, guided exhibition visits, revision days, and sessions with British Library curators and Shakespearean actors from The Globe.

With our international partners, opportunities include exchanges of academic staff and research students, as well as joint research and teaching activities. Joint PhD programmes are available in collaboration with Humboldt Universität and the National University of Singapore, providing students with the opportunity to receive a qualification from two institutions.
